Step 1. Download the OS
Unlike older Linux distributions, Ubuntu is extremely easy to install and it works very well on older laptops. Step 4. Use the Chrome browser for everything
Aside from startup and shutdown, stay away from everything else that is offered by the OS. Set up an account with Google so you can access Google Docs. Everything you do should be managed online.
